Rebel uprising in Congo
A rebel group believed to be backed by Rwanda seized the strategic, provincial capital of Goma in eastern Congo on Nov. 20, in a development that threatens to spark a new, regional war, officials said. Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) has been marked by widespread violence and atrocities that continue to threaten regional stability.
